Job title: Assistant Director of Personnel and Enrollment Management

FLSA: Exempt

Reporting Functions: Reports to the Superintendent of Catholic Education

Job Function: The Assistant Director is primarily responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of teachers and administrators of schools. Additionally, the Assistant Director oversees student enrollment across the Dioceses' 34 schools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates, facilitates, and monitors the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of teachers within the Diocese.

Identifies and studies developments in the areas of school professional personnel.

Collaborates with Diocesan Human Resources regarding the posting of open positions.

Utilizes best practices related to the assessment of faculty, staff, and administration within schools.

Works closely with Human Resources in effectively tracking candidates for employment.

Manages the ongoing continuing education process of faculty, including but not limited to tracking of certifications/re-certifications of teachers.

Working closely with Diocesan Human Resources, recruit new candidates for employment.

Manages relationships with area stakeholders (i.e., local colleges) towards the recruitment of interns, student teachers, and candidates for employment.

Builds and maintains trusting relationships with parish priests, parish leadership, professional associations, and diocesan groups affiliated and leaders with the ministries of this office.

Interviewing all lay professionals for contracted positions within the education ministry of the Diocese of Allentown.

Review all teacher performance reports and advise the principals on any performance issues.

Visits schools/classrooms to monitor programs.

Serves as a liaison in human resources matters related to Professional Personnel in the Diocese of Allentown.

Serves as the analyst in all education furlough and staff reduction matters.

Supervises the Diocese Induction program.

Supports professional development and Act 48 opportunities for professional employees.

Oversees the collection and assessment of school enrollment.

Analyzes the enrollment trends related to geography, school type, and other factors impacting schools.

Promotes best practices related to enrollment growth.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational requirements:

Master's degree required.

Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Catholic school or diocesan setting with preference for experience as a school leader.

Other requirements:

Expert knowledge of the teachings and values of the Catholic Church and proven ability to impart this knowledge.

Candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have a deep knowledge of the Catholic faith, and agree to live by the tenets of the Catholic faith, including in lifestyle and on personal social media.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; interpersonal and public relation skills.

Ability to accomplish projects on time and within budget.

Ability to work professionally and collaboratively.

Optimistic, enthusiastic, and team-centered professional with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Competence in the use of technology required for this position.

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear both in person and by telephone; frequent use of equipment that includes repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue. Occasionally required to reach and lift with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift, and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

Working conditions: Working hours - 35 hours/week - May occasionally be required to work more than normal working hours, including evening and weekend responsibilities when connected with programming and events.
